Disney Trip 2006

The Sultan High School Marching Band and Jazz Band made history from May 19th through May 23rd, 2006, by being the first Turk bands ever to perform at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. So many pictures were taken (and we expect many more to be submitted) that the Disney album is divided into five sub-albums, one for each day. Come in and enjoy the pictures from this incredible trip in our ever-growing gallery!

If you would like to submit pictures for inclusion in this album, please group them by date so we know which sub-album to use, burn them to a data CD or data DVD, and get them to Mr. Pardue or Mrs. Sumpter. You can also upload them to a web site or FTP server where we can grab them, just send the FTP information and/or web URL(s) to Mr. Pardue.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, the Morse Code looping at Disneyland's New Orleans Square Train Station really does have a meaning.

Donkey Basketball

On May 15th, 2006, members of the SHS Marching Band were challenged to a game of donkey basketball by the undefeated Sultan FFA team. It was a close one: the FFA won by a score of 20 to 18. Photos from the game have been posted in our gallery.

Spring Marching Band 2006

Parents: In order for your student to participate in Marching Band this spring, you and your student must sign and return the Marching Band expectations notice. This notice was sent home on Wednesday, March 22nd, along with a medical/emergency contact form (available at the school). Both must be turned in to Mrs. Sumpter as soon as possible.

My Fair Lady

On March 2-4, 2006, SHS music and drama students put on an awesome production of "My Fair Lady," and we've got the pictures to prove it! Photos from the show (including lots from behind the scenes) have been posted in our gallery.

Pep Band Seattle Trip 2006

On Saturday, January 28, members of the SHS Pep Band played for the Girls' Basketball game at Key Arena. Photos from this trip have been posted in our gallery. Also be sure to check out a comic based on the trip!

Auburn Trip 2005

On Saturday, November 5, the marching band shone in the Auburn Parade and Field Show at Auburn High School and Auburn Memorial Stadium, winning awards and trophies for:

  • Best Drum Majors
  • Best Percussion
  • Best Music
  • Best Marching
  • Best General Effect
  • First Place, Parade Competition, A Division
  • First Place, Field Show, A Division

Everett Trip 2005

On Saturday, October 22, the marching band competed in the Puget Sound Festival of Bands at Memorial Stadium in Everett, taking second place in the single-A division. Photos from this trip have been posted in our gallery.

Royal City Trip 2005

The marching band's recent competition in Royal City was a huge success! The band won trophies for:

  • Best Color Guard/Auxilliary
  • Best Music
  • Best Marching
  • Best Drum Majors
  • First Place, AA Division
  • Sweepstakes Trophy
