Veterans' Day Parade and Marching Band Competition, Auburn, WA - November 5, 2011

On Saturday, November 5th, 2011, the Turk marching band competed in the 25th Annual Veterans' Day Marching Band Competition in Auburn, Washington. Just when the season was already breaking records, the group turned in not only their best performance at Auburn, but their best performance in the history of marching bands at Sultan!!!

Best Marching
Best Music
Best Color Guard
Best General Effect
A score of 84.5 - the best SHS score EVER!!!!

It is hard to imagine a better ending to a phenomenal season. Congratulations to the students, the staff, the parents, and the entire community for such a fantastic outing!! A video of their marching performance is available on YouTube.

Sunset Festival of Bands, Sumner, WA - October 29, 2011

On Saturday, October 22nd, 2011, the SHS marching band competed in Sumner, Washington. They made Sultan High School history!!!

First Place in their division
First Place out of the entire field
A score of 80.1 - the first time that Sultan has scored above 80, EVER!

Puget Sound Festival of Bands, Everett, WA - October 22, 2011

On Saturday, October 22nd, 2011, the Sultan marching band competed at the Puget Sound Festival of Bands in Everett, Washington. They did extremely well; out of a field of 34 schools across four divisions:

First Place (AA division)
High Music Effect (AA Division)
High Visual Music (AA Division)
Best Drum Majors (overall)
Prelims: Sixth Place (overall)
Finals: Ninth Place (overall)

Great job!!

Harvest Festival, Yakima, WA - October 15, 2011

On Saturday, October 15th, 2011, the Turk marching band competed at the Harvest Festival in Yakima, Washington. They did very well indeed:

First Place in the A division
Best Drum Majors
Best General Effect

Peninsula Classic Marching Band Competition, Silverdale, WA - September 24, 2011

On Saturday, September 24th, 2011, the marching Turks competed at the Peninsula Classic Marching Band Competition in Silverdale, Washington, taking third place in their division. A video of their performance in the final round is available on YouTube!
